Universal Orlando Resort is one of the most popular theme parks in the world for families and groups of friends. Home to two theme parks and a waterpark, along with an entertainment Plaza (CityWalk) and a generous section of branded hotels – it has everything any family or group of friends need for a fun-filled week in the sun.

1. BigFire is now open in CityWalk
CityWalk is the perfect place to wander in the evening after a fun day at the park. It’s already home to a generous selection of restaurants, including its newest addition called the BigFire. It’s been designed with lakeside summer dining in mind, with inspiration being drawn from open-fire cooking.
2. Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure™ now open
Universal Orlando’ Resort’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter has already gone down a storm. Recently, a new addition opened at the park: Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure. On this highly-themed, immersive coaster experience, families will be taken into the Forbidden Forest – and will even be treated to a video message from Robbie Coltrane himself!
3. Stranger Things will become part of Halloween Horror Nights
Off the back of the highly-anticipated Stranger Things 3, Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights will feature Stranger Things themed mazes. The artwork was designed exclusively by Kyle Lambert, who has previously illustrated art for Seasons 1-3 of Stranger Things and depicts the “Stranger Things” cast bravely facing a horrifying monster and ferocious Demodogs.
4. Surfside Inn and Suites is now open
In June, Universal Orlando Resort’s seventh hotel, Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites, opened its doors to guests as the destination’s first value-orientated hotel. The resort is home to all the benefits of staying at a Universal Orlando Resort Hotel, including Early Park Admission to the theme parks, quick complimentary resort-wide shuttle bus transportation, and charging purchases to their room via their room key.
5. Dockside opening spring 2020
Surfside Inn and Suites won’t be Universal Orlando Resort’s newest hotel for long! In 2020, its sister property, Dockside Inn and Suites, will open in March and will bring the total room count at Universal Orlando Resort to 9,000 rooms by the end of 2020.
6. TODAY Café now open in Universal Studios Florida
Start your day right with a visit to the new TODAY Cafe. Inspired by NBC’s long-running morning show, you’ll be treated to stage lighting and TODAY segments on the big screen TVs. You’ll find baked goods, freshly prepared salads, tasty sandwiches and speciality coffees including a unique TODAY Cafe blend.
