We touched down in Guernsey on Saturday evening and went straight out for dinner at Buho which is a Mexican restaurant owned by the hotel group, 2 mins walk from hotel, the food was wonderful, the restaurant had lovely vibe and view from outside. We then got to enjoy an overnight stay at Fermain Valley; the rooms were spacious with a lovely view of the ocean.
On Sunday we enjoyed the full day in Guernsey. We started the day with breakfast at Fermain Valley. After breakfast we went on a Jeep safari around the island with tour guide Ant, stopping at places such as The Little Chappel, seeing Guernsey Cows and goats, up over the clifftops where the German lookout towers were and down to the beaches. Then we went to Castle Cornet where we had a whistle stop guided tour of the grounds. We then walked into St Peter’s port where they had an event on for the bank holiday weekend with lots of tents selling lots of local goodies. I picked up some soap made with golden goat’s milk (Guernsey is famous for its goats). Then we went to St Pierre Park where I made use of the spa facilities their outdoor hot tub was amazing and the overall spa in general had great facilities. Then we had a lovely dinner at the hotel that evening.

Tips for visiting Guernsey
- Guernsey has many music and food festivals throughout the year. If travellers come during this time, they will get a real feel for the island and its friendly communities.
- Guernsey is split into 10 Parishes all offering a different view/feel of the island. Take a drive through a few of these to see how the island has many unique buildings and churches some are French style and some English.
- Travellers can do day trips to the smaller islands Sark, Herm and Alderney
(fun fact Sark has no cars on the island, 500 inhabitants and some still use horses and carriages to get around).

Recommendations
- For those looking for a unique tour of the island book the Jeep safari through tour guernsey- I can highly recommend it as a great way to see the whole island in 1 day.
- Guernsey has 3 golf courses to offer on the island. The La Grande Mare golf course is undergoing a major redevelopment project. This project involves a complete overhaul of the course, including a new golf academy, updated facilities, and re-routing of the course, due to completed late 26/27 (I believe that is what tour guide Ant advised).
- For those looking to see historic guernsey there is castle, fort and military hospital with tours available
- St Pierre Park Hotel, Spa & Golf Resort- Stunning updated rooms, beautiful clean spa with great amenities, 2-minute walk from Guernsey’s largest driving range, 9-hole golf course and adventure golf.
- Guernsey was occupied by the Germans during WW2. You can visit observation towers around the island, see tanks, and other relics. You can even go inside one of the observation towers.
My highlights from visiting Guernsey
Travelling around Guernsey on the jeep safari from the bustling port to the high cliffs offers some beautiful scenery around the island such as its wonderful sea views, beaches, golf courses and churches. Also, each house was built differently from the next, which was interesting to me. The jeep safari was a highlight of the trip as there was so much information about Guernsey and its history provided by tour guide Ant.
Castle Cornet was a highlight for its breathtaking views of the island and other islands surrounding Guernsey. It was also very interesting to hear about the history of the castle and what happened during the occupation by the Germans in WW2.
St. Peter Port- walking around the area, taking in the local restaurants, bars and view of the port. The highlight for myself was seeing all the things that were locally produced being bought and sold at the event at the harbour.
