Cyprus is one of Europe’s most sought-after wedding destinations – and it’s not hard to understand why. With sun-drenched weather, beautiful backdrops, mouth-watering cuisine, and a generous selection of wedding venues it has everything you need to make your special day one you will never forget. It was even once the home of the goddess of love, Aphrodite!

But before you rush to book your flights, there are a few things you need to sort out. Below we’ve pulled together a selection of our favourite venues and some legal information that you’ll need to look through before you start sending out the invites.

Unique wedding venues in Cyprus

Cyprus’s visual mix of rugged coastline, neoclassical buildings, archaeological sites, and white-powdered beaches creates a unique selection of weddings venues. Here are just a few of our favourites that we can book for you.

Ayia Kyriaki Church

If you want a traditional Christian Ceremony with a unique twist then how about saying ‘I do’ within the archaeological ruins of a medieval church? There’s room for up to 200 guests and it will provide some incredible backdrops for your wedding photos.

Paphos Town Hall

Located right in the heart of the Old Town, Paphos Town Hall boasts a traditional neoclassical style with elegant columns and marble steps. There’s also a small garden for laid-back wedding photos.

Ayios Elias Gardens

If it’s a garden wedding you’ve always dreamed of, then we recommend to romantic Ayios Elias Gardens. You’ll say ‘I do’ in a decorated veranda, surrounded by colourful summer flowers as your friends and family watch on from white covered chairs on the paved stone floor. The wider garden also offers several beautiful photo opportunities including towering cliffs and lush greenery.

Shipwreck Venue

Cyprus is a pro at beautiful cliff-side weddings. But near the town of Paphos you can say ‘I do’ against views of the Mediterranean Sea punctuated by an ancient shipwreck. It is also an incredibly private venue.

Cyprus Resort Hotel Weddings

Aside from beautiful venues along the rugged coastline and in historic buildings, Cyprus also boasts a generous selection of resort hotels with on-site wedding co-ordinators. Again, here are a few of our favourites.

Top tip: For hotel-based ceremonies you must be resident at the hotel where the wedding will take place.
