There’s no denying that the end of the year is beginning to draw on us. The evenings are getting a little darker, Halloween costumes are now in shop windows, and we’re beginning to hear little snippets of conversation about Christmas.

At the end of the year in the travel industry, it is the perfect time for us to reflect and determine what the most popular destinations will be in 2020 based on our forward bookings. Our team have pulled our 2020 bookings to round up the top 20 destinations for 2020.

1. Orlando

Year after year, Orlando is one of the top holiday destinations for families seeking sun and fun. Whether you choose to stay right in the heart of the action on International Drive, or book a quiet villa in Kissimmee – Orlando has everything you need for an unforgettable break.

2. Tenerife

Tenerife is a great all-round destination. It’s perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway, families looking for fun-filled beaches resorts, and groups of friends seeking lively bars.

3. Cancun

Cancun is one of the best options for people seeking an all-inclusive beach resort with everything on their doorstep. And you’ll find resorts geared towards couples, families, and friend groups.

4. Antalya

The Turkish resort of Antalya is a charming balance between a modern beach town and an ancient city. It’s also a gateway to Turkey’s southern Mediterranean region, known as the Turquoise Coast (after its stunning blue waters)

5. Majorca

Majorca is another destination that is a fantastic all-rounder for different types of travellers. There’s Magaluf for young friends looking for an unforgettable night out, Palma Nova for families seeking adventure, and Cala D’Or for sun worshippers who want a traditional Spanish town.

6. Alicante

Alicante is a Spanish resort along the Mediterranean coastline that offers a mix of new and old. Its old town, Barrio de la Santa Cruz, is home to narrow streets, coloured houses and a sophisticated nightlife scene. Remember to also head upwards towards the medieval Castillo de Santa Bárbara, set on a hilltop that offers sweeping views of the Mediterranean coast.

7. Dalaman

The second Turkish resort to make our list, Dalaman, is one of history’s most popular holiday destinations. It was once the destination of choice for Greek gods like Pegasus and Apollo! These days it is home to Blue Flag beaches, lively tourist resorts and historical sights.

8. Salou

Salou is consistently ranked as one of Spain’s most popular holiday destinations – and with good reason! There are golden sandy beaches, easy access to Europe’s biggest theme park, 24-hour nightlife and Barcelona is just 90 minutes away.

9. Lanzarote

Lanzarote offers a slightly more mellow and cultural alternative to the other Canary Islands. There are stunning volcanic landscapes, beautiful white-washed houses, Europe’s first underwater museum, and a restaurant that cooks its dishes on a volcano opening!

10. New York

New York City is always a classic. Whether it’s a walk through Central Park, a visit to famous film locations, a luxurious shopping spree, or a trip up the Empire State Building – New York City is one of the world’s favourite city breaks for a reason.

11. Dubai

It feels like a lifetime ago when Dubai was just a blip on people’s travel radars. But over the last decade, Dubai has year-on-year added to its fantastic tourist attractions and has become one of the world’s most attractive city breaks. Amongst its offerings are theme parks, the world’s tallest building, glittering beaches and luxury resort hotels. Don’t forget to explore Dubai’s Old Town!

12. Las Vegas

Las Vegas proves that a destination doesn’t need to change its formula in order to attract travellers from all over the globe. Its draw has always been casinos, parties, extravagant shows, and celebrities – and 2020 looks to be no different.

13. Miami

Another Florida city making the list. American with a Latin twist, Miami is home to a mishmash of beaches, skyscrapers and cultural districts. And the huge Everglades National Park is right on its doorstep.

14. Cyprus

Cyprus is a firm holiday favourite that attracts a mixture of clubbers, families, and couples. The island is also home to mountain scenery, centuries-old sights, energetic nightlife, and unforgettable food – as well as pristine beaches!

15. Singapore

Singapore has always been a popular stopover on the way to Australia and New Zealand, but the last few years have witnessed it rise as a destination in its own right. You’ll find gleaming skyscrapers scattered between ornate temples, exotic plants at the expansive Singapore Botanic Gardens, and delicious Asian cuisine around every corner.

16. Gran Canaria

Gran Canaria has been on the world’s holiday radar since the 19th Century and shows little sign of slowing down. You have beaches for all holiday personalities: including larger-than-life resorts with neon nightlife and sleepy coves for romantic sunset walks. Then in-land you’ll find yourself in the middle of a Biosphere Reserve filled with unique plants and micro-climates.

17. Costa del Sol

The Costa del Sol region along Spain’s southern coast offers a lovely mix of luxury resorts alongside family-friendly beaches. There’s Marbella and Puerto Banus, for friends groups and couples seeking something sophisticated. While, on the other hand, there’s Benalmadena for families, Nerja for a traditional Spanish experience, and Fuengirola for people who want to party.

18. Fuerteventura

Fuerteventura is all about the beach – and many consider its beaches to be the best in the Canary Islands. It’s unsurprising then that water sports are big in Fuerteventura, especially kite surfing! Its main resort towns are Corralejo, Jandia, and Costa Caleta.

19. Paris

This is the only European city break to make our list – and it’s a classic. Paris is undoubtedly one of the most iconic cities in Europe and it’s very hard for any other city to compete. There’s iconic landmarks, world-class museums, and mouth-watering cuisine.

20. Florida

We’ve already mentioned Orlando and Miami, but the rest of Florida needs a mention too. After an exciting week in the theme parks, there’s an abundance of beach towns to retire to. Whether that’s St Pete’s & Clearwater, Fort Myers, and Sarasota on the west coast, Fort Lauderdale on the east, or the Florida Keys that slip into the Gulf of Mexico.
